I'm a film and video editor, online editor and colorist based in New York City. I've worked on features, shorts, industrials, reality shows, travel shows, documentaries, TV promos and other formats.
In 1992 I walked away from a safe, dull career in civil service with full benefits and a pension to pursue a pipe dream career as a photojournalist.
For most of the 1990s, I covered breaking news stories around New York City, frequently working on assignment for the New York Times and other news outlets. I frequently had photos on the Times' “second front”, meaning page B1, the front of the Metro section. I also had many photos run nationally and internationally. I even had one photo on the New York Times' main front page, page A1.
While it was thrilling to have a front row seat to history, it wasn't financially stable. I had to spend a couple of transitional years in retail to pay off my mounting debts.
In 2001 I went back to freelancing, this time as a film editor. Since then I've worked on feature films, documentaries TV shows and corporate videos.
